Wireless Usage Statistics: Are The Wires Gone?

There are many kinds of components which are used for communication support by using waves through the medium of air. Several statistics show that the wireless services, its usage and its corresponding systems were rated at 1.23 billion (in Euros) during the year of 2001. It grew steadily till 2003 to 2004. Its growth reaches to 8.33 billion during the year of 2006. There are many wireless devices available in the market like wireless mobile and wireless internet. The statistics of mobile phone shows nearly 500 million to 505 million units during the year of 2000 and 2001. It is an increment of 20 percent than the rate registered during the year of 1999. But wireless usage statistics show that the sales increment has reduced by 18 percent as registered on 1999.

The number one slot of wireless usage is Japan having 175 million units during the year of 2000. Next to Japan, Europe led the overall market with a projected 140.45 million units during the same year. The very next is America, where statistics showed had as having the largest wireless usage market with 103.5 million units, which is lesser when compared to other wireless usage markets.

The wireless technology remains low in America because the wireless technology users are not properly informed about wireless internet usage. They are unaware of the whole technology. When compared to 13 countries all over the world, nearly 88.5 percent of the wireless technology users are unaware of this technology. United Kingdom has the highest rate of 83 percent of wireless users and 75 percent in Italy and lesser rates of 53 percent in Germany. The wireless usage technology has widely spread to all types of people across the world.

Statistics across the globe show that people who are above 15 years of age use wireless technology. The rates revealed in wireless usage statistics are 33 to 36 percent in U.S and 65% to 68% in United Kingdom and a least rate of 55 percent in Germany and other countries. Most of teenagers use a mobile phone once in a week to send a text message. This rate is registered as minimum of 5 percent of mobile phone users in U.S. But, this rate is much higher in other countries like UK, Germany and Belgium. Nearly 55 percent registered in UK and 53 percent in Germany and maximum of 59 percent of wireless technology users registered in Belgium.

According to U.S government, the total statistics usage of wireless technology is expected to reach a maximum of $2.5 billion in 2007 and above. The wireless local area network technologies migrate to very high speed operating systems with the 6 GHz band, where the technology faces very low interference from elsewhere.

The most popular wireless local area network (WLAN) 802.11b has to be introduced over the forthcoming years. It is a replacement of IEEE 802.11g and 802.11a. The wireless Telematics technology market has an OEM sale of equipment and its subscription fees and minutes of certain airtime has a growth of $485 million during the year of 2003 and it has a certain increment of $4.5 billion by 2006 and 2007. The wireless broadband usage in U.S grows nearly to the amount of 335,600 during 2002 to 4 million by the year 2007.

Considering all the above statistics, one could definitely state that the usage of wireless technology has a most successful market all over the world!
