This statistics reveals that nearly 52 percent of the people were sending emails, around 30 to 32 percent of the people were gathering the information from browsing, about 28 to 29 percent of the people were using the search engine for information, 19 percent of the people were on internet search to find answer to their questions, nearly 23 percent of the people were surfing the net for fun, about 17 percent of the people were checking weather, 14 percent to 15 percent of the people were chatting online and sending instant message and 19 percent of the people were doing online purchasing.

According to searchenginewatch.com, internet usage statistics show that, during the year 2003, nearly 319 million of internet users perform several online searches per day using the major search engines. The popular search engine, Google, was used nearly 18.7 million hours per month by the internet users in America and this comes to approximately 112 million searches per day. On an average, nearly 312 million of searches were performed by internet users through many search engines per day.
