Gas Usage Statistics: Too Much Consumption?Gas usage is common all over the world, among all the people of the world. Gas prices will ebb and flow throughout the year. Some months we will see savings and others we will see the prices stay high enough to affect our budget. Gas is used for various purposes. Contrary to popular belief, it is not so hard to save gas usage. The recent gas usage statistics predict that the transportation industry is using nearly 28.5 miles per day in cars. An average of 25.1 miles per gallon is registered as a national rate of gas used in cars. But this average is high when compared to the average rate in 1980's. Nearly 60% to 65% of U.S people are having more than one car. In order to curb this problem and reduce gas usage, it is better to conserve gas usage during the time when gas prices shoot up. Much wastage of gas also occurs while driving a car speedily or by giving a vehicle a very high acceleration. The gas mileage reduces by nearly 30 to 35 percent when a car runs in a high speed and approximately 4 to 5 percent of gas gets wasted. This average rate of gas 4 percent to 35 percent is just equal to the savings of 6.5 cents to 50 cents per gallon. Statistics of gas usage show that maintaining the driving speed at an optimum level will increase the usage percentage of gas. When a car is driven over 55 to 60 mph, it will result in paying an extra of 10 to 15 cents/gallon. The air conditioned car requires even more gas then a normal car. It uses 20 percent to 25 percent more than the normal usage of gas. Some statistics show that the usage of gas and fuel is mostly used in military. In the army, the percent of gas usage is around 11.5 percent and nearly 24.5% of energy is used in military to heat or to power certain facilities. Remaining 74.5 percent is mainly used for mobility purposes. According to the U.S government, the Air Force alone is consuming nearly 52.8% of gas, the Navy has 31.5 percent and the army has 11.8 percent of gas. All these uses plenty of gas and it is called as a mobility fuel. Air force is related with air lift and other packages from air and likewise, the Marine Corps are related with sea delivered packages and Army is related with fighting and holding. These are simplifications of missions which are involved in certain services which are interrelated very closely. The process of distilling and boiling is based on burning gas of military equipment. This operation is very effective to bring a shape to the process. Many statistics state that most Americans use far more gasoline and gas than what might be totally necessary. If this extra usage is curbed, there is a good possibility of conserving a lot of gas for future use. |
